Get it?
You didnt lose because your monks suck.
You didnt lose because 'Joe Schmo' the W/E sucks.
You didnt lose because you were fighting Koreans.
You didnt lose because you ONLY (god forbid) have 2 monks in the group.
You didnt lose because you had 2 necros in the group instead of 2 elementalists (curses and death magic dont stack, if you got 2 necros make sure you dont have overlapping spells, other wise you will lose because you had 2 necros in the group. Same goes with stacking MONK SPELLS!)
The most likely reason you lost is because you didnt stay focussed on 1 target in the middle of battle, and everyone was doing their own thing.
The second most likely reason you lost is because you werent DEFENDING YOUR POOR MONKS. Instead of letting your monks get the living *$&# beat out of em by every warrior on the enemy side, try defending them. Its entirely possible to preventing an enemy warrior from hammering your monk into obvlivion you know. There are many ways to prevent this from happening. Get out of this Diablo mindset, you cant spam frozen orb anymore and win. Start thinking CHESS.
I got a great monk protection player. She's a mesmer/necro. In 10 seconds I can hit 3 enemy warriors or rangers with both enfeeble and faintheartedness, and have them almost doing ZERO damage for the next 30 seconds. Unfortunately, everyone things 4 monks makes a perfect group, how absurd. I do more in keeping my monks alive then having 3 more extra monks in the group, but somehow never get invited to groups. There are many ways to defend your monk. Anyone try water magic, or illusionary spells that slow enemy movement so your monk can have at least better then zero chance of escaping the sharper end of a sword?

There needs to be a minimum requirement before going to the hall of heroes for PvP, like being ascended for one.

God no. NO more PvE grind for PvP requirements, skills, runes, items are enough. At the same time, getting the hall of heroes proves your worth to be there, since when Tombs is busy, there are a half dozen or so earlier matches which you have to win.

Um, someone take a wild guess about how many ascended,
How many completed game,
how many have all the skills are in your typical group?
I always assumed most of you would have the descency of not bringing wimpy characters into my group and getting us all wiped out.
If you dont have 80% of the skills for your primary, and havent experienced the brutality of ascention YOU ARE GIMPING your group.

I spent the last week collecting all the elite skills for my necro. I then went out to every town and bought all the other skills I passed up for the last few months. I was short 1 skill point for 1 skill in ice tooth cavern. I then deleted that character to create room in my account for a PvP character.
How RUDE it is to your teammates, bringing in a new character with about 30 or so ascalon city or pre-searing skills. Could you at least get to like Magmaa Stada or something? They got great skills. You are bringing in a gimped character then having the NERVE to blame the rest of the team. (not you Minwanabi, some of you out there do)
Im being the best that I can be to the benefit of my team, then have to put up with venomous talk if we lose, quitters and joiners. Join, lose, quit. Join, lose, quit. What a vicious cycle.

Why? You can have 4 characters, make 3 PvE, represeting every class (I play, and have finished all the missions with a mo/w, and an ele/me, have a r/n in the desert now), and use those 3 PvE characters to get every skill unlocked. Then, cycle the last spot to remake a PvP character. Realistically, you'll never want more than one PvP character at any one time, and since you can make them in about a minute, why not?

alright i have a question about going after one target in general. can't a protection monk and healing monk protect just 1 target so long as they know that that person is the target. i have heard that sniping w/ air ele's can be prevented if the mo's knew which target was going to be attacked. so if a group is only going after 1 target, and if a team isn't built to snipe how can they kill just one person given the other team has at least 1 protection mo and either another protection and a healing or 2 more healing monks.

I really didn't understand that post, what exactly is sniping? We are talking about guild wars, right? If, perhaps, you're asking why a group can kill someone when they aren't built for spiking is simple attrition. Run their monks out of energy, interrupt them, and have wars beating on the focused target. Basically, make sure your monks can heal longer than theirs, and someone'll drop.

So basically what you're saying is the entire team should redirect their efforts to the W/Mo's bashing on you to "save you?" Wow, you're smart.

I agree.
slowly but surely this new player (PvE and PvP) begins to see that the PvP crowd gets a bit neglected by Arena currently.

To be honest - I find that monks are amazingly good at surviving hell - unless a mezzer or necro shuts them down.
So I go kill the necros and mezzers. They are squishy, and they are used to everyone killing the monks first. Even if all I do is get them running like a girly man, then they are not interfering with the monk. And besides - I bring along powers that make running pretty futile.
I suppoes its all about disrupting the disruption :P

No Virtuoso. When a warrior starts bashing on me I cast enfeeble and faintheartedness on them (usually I already have all warriors on enemy team hexed). After about 15 seconds of barely taking any damage that w/MO leaves me and starts bashing on another target of opportunity because they think im immune or something.
